SANS Sample Environment and Equipment


Sample environment equipment for static experimental conditions (sample holders, thermostats, furnaces, cryostats, magnet, vacuum and pressure, etc.) and dynamic conditions (stopped-flow, shear and flow experiments) are an essential adjunct to most small angle neutron scattering experiments to induce the sample being studied into a phase or state of particular interest. Here we give a brief overview of the diverse range of sample environment equipment that is currently in use, a background to its development and also some recent trends.
